About Me

My writing appears in lit journals (Grist, Michigan Quarterly Review, Catapult), news/culture outlets (Jezebel and The Washington Post), and humor sites (McSweeney’s Internet Tendency, The Belladonna, Points in Case). I have received support from the Bread Loaf Writers’ Workshop, the Maryland State Arts Council, the Lawrence Foundation Prize, and other short fiction prizes. I worked for several years as a magazine editor and writer, and I have a modest background in visual art and design. I’m into cooking (non-competitive) and hanging with my kids. I teach at the University of Maryland, College Park.
